Am Thanh cung chia ra lam 9 ( 4 - 1 - 4) loai am chinh:
Voi 4 Am Thanh dau tien (1, 2, 3, 4) mang nang luong, tan so va su rung dong rat cao, cao, va thanh manh.
Va Am Thanh thu 5 mang y nghia cua su trung hoa, hai hoa va can bang cho 8 Am Thanh kia, mang nang luong, tan so va su rung dong cua Thanh ( Xanh) tuc la giong nhu Moc vay.
Voi 4 Am Thanh cuoi cung (6, 7, 8, 9) mang nang luong, tan so va su rung dong rat thap, thap, va tram lang.
Phat Giao dinh nghia tat ca Chung Sanh deu thuoc ve 9 Thuc: Thi Giac, Thinh Giac, Vi Giac, Khuu Giac, Xuc Giac, Truc Giac, Nghiep, Suy Nghi, va Chung Tu.
Voi 3 Thuc o ben trong Dai The: Nghiep (bao gom tat ca nguon nang luong, tan so va su rung dong hay chua dung tat ca kiep song), Suy Nghi (don vi nho nhat cua Tu Tuong (Thien Dao va Dia Dao), va Chung Tu (thuoc Dai Nhan), (Anh sang xanh Thuan Khiet va Thanh Tinh, Tinh Hoa).
Va 6 Thuc o ben ngoai Dai The: Thi Giac, Thinh Giac, Vi Giac, Khuu Giac, Xuc Giac, va Truc Giac.

Sound, perceived through the sense of hearing, is the second consciousness (outside Great Body) in Buddhism.
Sound is also divided into 9 (4-1-4) main types:
The first 4 sounds (1, 2, 3, 4) carry very high energy, frequency, and vibration, and are clear and delicate.
The 5th sound signifies neutrality, harmony, and balance for the other 8 sounds, carrying the energy, frequency, and vibration of Green (or Wood).
The last 4 sounds (6, 7, 8, 9) carry very low energy, frequency, and vibration, and are calm and subdued.
Buddhism defines all sentient beings as belonging to the 9 consciousnesses: Sight, Hearing, Taste, Smell, Touch, Intuition, Karma, Thought, and Green Seed.
With 3 Consciousnesses inside the Great Body: Karma (including all energy sources, frequencies, and vibrations, or containing all lifetimes), Thought (the smallest unit of Mind (Heavenly and Earthly Paths), and Green Seed (belonging to the Great Man), (Pure and Purity Green Light, Essence).
And 6 Consciousnesses outside the Great Body: Sight, Hearing, Taste, Smell, Touch, Intuition.
