In the Book of Sun Qing (孫卿書), Xunzi emphasized the power of the mind, stating that upon reaching "Great Clarity" (absolute clarity), the mind becomes omniscient and omnipotent (like the Book of Records in the night sky of the universe).
This viewpoint has a somewhat mystical quality, similar to the Taoist concept of the Sage. According to him, a true Sage can harmonize with the Heavenly Way, but a Buddha must possess both the Heavenly Way and the Earthly Way, or the Great Way and the Small Way, unobstructed by ordinary knowledge and perception, unmoved by mundane desires, thereby achieving absolute objective awareness and control.
Xunzi believed that clear and precise language was the achievement of a Sage King. He believed that the names of people and all things originate from the depths of the Ideas, and that the guidance of the Ideas creates all Kung Fu, Martial Arts, Art, Academia, and all the foundations of Science and its applications...etc.
(The Idea is the smallest unit of thought, contributing to the creation of meaning and purpose in Words and Language).
