Mưa chiều nay đường trần sao ngút ngàn
Em miền mơ còn ta bên hữu hạn
Sông ngàn đưa đời ta hai cửa mộng
Có được chăng nhập nhánh chảy chung giòng
Em từ trăng về nhen lên đóm lửa
Nhưng người ơi sao chậm chân muôn thuở
Ta chờ em tàn phai bao ước phận
Còn thuốc thần ta uống để hoá thân
Hôm nào em hạc vàng bay lạc lối
Chợt thấy rằng ta cất nhớ trong mơ
Ôi bàn tay dài vươn vùng tỉnh thức
Gặp nhau chăng nắng hạn với sương mờ?
Sao chờ chi, trần ai ta có gì
Sao đợi chi, một cõi trọ qua đêm
Ta hải âu từng quen mùi gió mặn
Đêm dày vò biển dữ bão ăn năn
Mưa chiều nay đường về mưa nhỏ hạt
Em bên kia cội nguồn bờ khao khát
Trôi chuyến đời tìm mê trong bỉ ngạn
Có gặp chăng dẫu một chuyến đò ngang?

POEM FOR YOU
It rains on the long winding road, this afternoon,
You in dreamland and I on the finite world
The river ushers us through two fairy gates
Could the branches merge into one stream?
Descending from the moon, you ignite the fire
But, O traveler, why are you so tardy?
The long wait has extinguished my vows
Is there a magic potion to transcend myself?
Seeing you, a golden crane flying astray,
I was in deep thinking of you, in my dream.
Beautiful hands stretching beyond the conscious world,
Can we meet, whether in sere weather or dense fog?
Why wait, is there any other meaning to this world,
Why delay, this is only a resting place overnight.
A sea albatross accustomed to the briny wind,
I repent in the midst of a tempest at night.
On the way home, it rains in droplets this afternoon,
You and I on each side of desire,
Trading our passion without solution
Will we ever meet, even as a ferry crossing the river?
